Many of you may be wondering about the Eiken test. You may be interested in more details, or wondering if it is something that you should be considering for your child. At KBE, we believe that this is really a personal desicion and comes down to why you feel that it is important that your child learns English. English education is becoming more prevalent in Japan, and there is a big push to get it into elementary schools across the country. As a result some junior high schools and high schools have begun putting english requirements on their entrance exams. If you are considering going to one of these schools then you should definitely begin to start considering preparing for Eiken. Even if you are not interested in sending your child to a school that has English as an entrance requirement you still may want to consider preparing your child for the test simply because it is another useful resource and in preparing for the test your child will be exposed to a number of different vocabulary and grammar. You can find more information about the merits of the Eiken test by clicking here.

Resources
Luckily, Eiken has produced a pretty good website and has some excellent resources to help you prepare for the test. At KBE, it is a goal of ours to help make the English learning process easier for all of you so we have included links to that webpage. The Eiken junior program has three tests. They are Bronze, Silver and Gold. We recommend that everyone completes the bronze stage test preparation questions before moving on. You can find the page by clicking here.
